Acrylic Mosque Painting

I recently made this Mosque Painting, using the techniques i used on a previous painting of Penshaw Monument, but instead of the monument on the hill, I painted a mosque instead.  The first painting is below.

Ceramic Owl

My 9 year old daughter has been attending a homeschooling ceramics course with her friends. Some of the mums were able to do a piece to, this is my attempt at ceramics.  I quite like how it turned out. You never quite know how it will turn out when you paint it as the colours you paint on don't look like the colours they will turn out like.

Penshaw and Dr Who Acrylic Painting

Being a Dr Who Fan I decided to paint an acrylic painting of a popular local landmark (Penshaw Monument) with a Dr Who Tardis flying above.  I wasn't sure how it would turn out but many commented on how they loved it.

Death Star Painted Candle

I recently shared a painted Dr Who Tardis Candle, this time I am sharing a Star Wars Death Star Candle I hand painted with acrylic paints.  I used the ball candles you can find in many stores, my daughter currently buys these and paints them with henna theme designs.  She has one candle left over so I thought I would give it a go.  I love how it turned out, even though it's not easy painting a round candle.

Penshaw Monument Acrylic Painting

I have been busy painting recently. I decided on a new style using square canvasses.  I decided to paint a local scene to where I live, this is Penshaw Monument. Whenever you travel out of thew City you see this in the skyline and when you return you know you are nearly home!  I have climbed the hill to the top on numerous occasions and been on the monument. I will try and share some photos below of this lovely monument.

Acrylic Dr Who Tardis Painting

If you have seen my previous post, you will know that I am a Dr Who fan.  My youngest is also a fan so I thought I would do some artwork to go in her room.  So I have been busy painting recently.  She is also a Star Wars fan so I might be sharing some more art work on my blog with a Star Wars theme too.

This is just a plain white canvas that I painted in a galaxy colour background, which I splattered with white paint using a toothbrush to give a white starry effect.  Then I hand painted the Tardis on the top of the background.  My daughter loves this painting.

Hand Painted Dr Who Candle

I admit it, I am a Dr Who fan and so is my youngest daughter.  My elder daughter is normally the one who decorates candles but I thought I would have a go myself at decorating a candle.  So I chose the theme 'Dr Who'  and hand painted a Tardis onto a plain pillar candle with a Galaxy theme background.

I am quite pleased with the outcome for a first attempt.  I might have a go at some other designs now.

Art Exhibition

I am so proud of my 2 young daughters Masha'Allah.  They both had their artwork on display in a local art exhibition.  They were overjoyed and so pleased to also meet and chat with the local Mayor and Mayoress at the opening evening of the Exhibition.  They have both posted this good news on their own blogs but I thought it deserved a post on my blog too!  http://artyprincess.com/  http://www.slhcrafts.com/

Penshaw Monument Painting

My 8 year old daughter recently painted some lovely bright landscape acrylic paintings.  She actually sold both of them fairly quickly.  She is a member of a local art group and they are holding an exhibition in the local shopping centre and wanted to have one of her paintings exhibited.  We thought she could do a similar design but with a local twist.  Penshaw Monument is a local landmark which many locals will immediately recognise so we thought that that might make it more easy to sell.  I have previously took many photographs of this monument so we had some photos to use to get the layout correct.

Acrylic City Scene Painting

I painted this last year and only just realised I didn't blog about it.  I know I showed a photo of it on my blog page in November but didn't make a blog post.  This is the first painting I did at the new art class I go to with my 2 young daughters.  I took inspiration from a similar city scene painting I came across in a magazine. The photo below shows my painting before it was framed next to the magazine cutout.

I don't think I had painted something since I was at school over 20 years ago!  I have only managed another painting since this one, hopefully I will share that with you in a later post.

Acrylic Painting block colours

I recently shared a post showing a painting my 8 year old made which was sold straight away after being up in an exhibition. So she has now sold 2 of her paintings.

The photo below is her adding the second layer of paints to bring out the bold colours.

The photo below shows the finished painting before it is framed. Last time she chose a white frame but this time we went for a silver frame.

Acrylic Landscape painting

My 8 year old recently tried her hand at painting in block colours and quite liked this technique so she decided to have a go at a landscape painting. The result was brilliant. We had this painting framed and it was put up at a local art exhibition. The painting was sold in the first week after much interest.

SLH Crafts Review

Most who follow me will also be aware that my 13 year old daughter is also a blogger and has a crafts website SLH Crafts. http://www.slhcrafts.com/  She has recently been quite busy with different crafts and also won a local art competition recently so I thought it was about time I showcased some of her recent work here on my blog too!  I am so proud of her achievements and her talents continue to amaze me masha'Allah.
