Arabic Calligraphy Artwork - 30 Days of Ramadan Crafts

Day 24 - Arabic Calligraphy Artwork

We have all been busy in our house doing some great designs with Arabic Calligraphy. My 2 daughters have been doing some freehand calligraphy paintings which they then framed. I designed some calligraphy artwork using the computer. I am not an Arabic speaker, but I have been told that this particular calligraphy means Peace in Arabic. You can choose to design any Arabic word/s that you prefer.

Requirements for Painting.

  • Paper/card
  • Paint/paintbrushes
  • Photograph Frame

Instructions:

Step 1) Find an Arabic word that you wish to paint so that you can either hand draw or print off one from the computer and try to trace this onto some paper.
Step 2) Once you have a hand drawn word you can then go over this with your paints.
Step 3) Add a pretty border if you wish to have more detail to your artwork.
Step 4) Once dry you can then place this inside a photograph frame and display your artwork.

Below are the 3 different designs that we came up with as a family. We have these displayed around the house.
Designed by myself!

Designed by my 11 year old.

Helpful Hints: We used paints for this project but you could also do this using other art supplies such as coloured pens/crayons etc.  You could also display it as it is without having to use a photograph frame.

Don't Forget that if you have made any of the Ramadan Crafts that I have blogged about, then please send in a photograph and I will publish this on my blog and my Facebook Page! You can send this via email (karimascrafts@gmail.com) or post on my Facebook Page Karimas-Crafts directly.

  1. It's really beautiful. You really are doing great things with your kids Karima and seem to have many ideas for them to have a very special Ramadan.
Take care and love form France.
