I have seen this idea many times - but never actually got round to doing it because I don't own any wine bottle holders - as I don't drink alcohol. However at a visit to a Car Boot Sale recently I came across one for only £1 so I couldn't resist buying it. This is a great way to reuse an item - I am all for upcycling things!
These towel holders are great if you only have a small bathroom, I actually have mine placed on the small bathroom cupboard - as I don't have any other storage facilities for spare towels. Previously I had to walk across the house to where I keep my spare clean towels when I needed a spare towel. Now I always make sure that the holder has at least 2 spare towels, so none of my children can shout for me to get them a towel when I am busy.
This holder only needed a wash as it was in very good condition, if you need to I guess you could paint them to match your decor. I love finding new ideas on how to upcycle - making use of things for a different purpose than what they were originally meant for! There are many different styles and sizes of these wine bottle holders - you often see them available in charity / thrift shops for really low prices.

ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea to find a different use for the wine holder. I like to put out towels when people visit--this a nice way to do just that!
ReplyDeleteI featured your last post in today's It’s a Wrap Link Party at Artful Rising.

ReplyDeleteThat is great! Does it hold full-sized towels?!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments. Jillian, the size of towels that I place into this wine rack are: 90cm x 50cm and these fit in fairly easily when rolled up.

Very nice idea Karima! No space in our bathroom now, but I keep the idea for the next place!
ReplyDeleteI just realized you did not appear in my list of blogs......weird.
I will go through the posts I missed so. Take care!
Wooden paper toweling holders go nicely in kitchens with wood grain cabinets. These paper toweling holders often blend in well with wood grain finish, they are usually reasonable in price, and they look as if they were custom made.
