My Tote Stain Solution

I managed to acquire a stain on my favourite cotton tote! This happened when I placed my daughters painted picture from nursery into my tote. Then my daughter placed her drink bottle into my tote, without the top being fastened securely so that it leaked. This meant that the paint from the picture leaked onto my tote.

I tried to wash this as soon as I returned home, but unfortunately the stain wouldn't budge! The photo above shows where the stain was on my tote. I apologise for the photo, this was taken as soon as I had washed the tote, before ironing it!  I really loved this tote because it was a great size and was really useful to carry heavy items in when I do the grocery shopping.

At first I thought about adding some kind of pocket to the outside so that it covers the stain, but the pattern is so detailed I didn't think that would work.  I then decided that if all the bag was pink, then maybe you wouldn't see the stain, so that is what I did.  I dyed the whole of the bag 'Pink'. Below is the photo of the bag after I had dyed it pink and ironed it this time!

At first I wasn't very sure about this, but now I really love my bag. I think it adds a bit of colour, I am really pleased with the outcome. I now have a bag that is totally unique and  I am so glad that I managed to save it from the trash!
